Music This Month : APRIL

So this month has a pretty small playlist not because I didn’t listen to music, but because I listened to the same songs on repeat. This is probably my favorite month for music so far!

Jess Rose

My friend sent me this song because it’s hella relatable (if you forget that it may or may not be about a stripper). At first I made fun of it, but it’s been in my head ever since so I had to include it!

Song Included –

  • Chocolate – ft Troze

Lana Del Rey

The star of this month! I listened to her new song over and over again! So much that my boyfriend has opted to stop listening to music with me, for the time being. It’s classic Lana and I love it SO MUCH

Song Included –

  • Lust for life – ft. The Weeknd

Blink-182

I love that Blink-182 is putting out new music right now. I’ve yet to listen to a song on their new album that I don’t like!

Song Included-

  • Misery

The Chainsmokers

This is the year of The Chainsmokers, for me. I think they have been on my list every month this year. This one may not be my favorite of theirs, but I’ve been listening to it A TON!

Song Included –

  • The One

And that is actually it! What was your favorite song this month? I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading!

Music This Month: March

March was a big music month for me, especially in terms of new releases and music that is on the radio. I go through phases where Pop music, on the radio, speaks to me and sometimes it make me want to rip my ears off. So, luckily, my ears are in tact and I have a hefty playlist to share with y’all!

All Time Low

If All Time Low has a new song, you can bet your house I’m BOPPIN to it. I love them so much.

Song Included –

  • Dirty Laundry

Clean Bandit

I honestly don’t know anything about this artist, are they an electronic music group? I really don’t know. I do know I love one of their song, this month.

Song Included –

  • Rockabye (feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie)

Weezer

New Weezer? YES YES YES! I love Weezer, they are one of my favorite bands ever, so I’m crazy pumped that they have been releasing new music recently.

Song Included –

  • Feels Like Summer

Bruno Mars

OK, I admit I’m not the hugest fan of Bruno Mars. His newest song, on the radio, actually changed my mind for a minute there.

Song Included –

  • That’s What I Like

Machine Gun Kelly

Much like Clean Bandit, I have NO idea who this is, or what they do (I think it’s rap). Regardless, I didn’t put them over there because I’m a huge fan (obviously) but I love the female vocalist in the song and can’t get enough of it!

Song Included –

  • Bad Things – with Camila Cabello

Gorillaz

WHAT? Gorillaz are BACK? With a new look?! I’m all in! Image result for gorillaz CGI look

Song Included –

  • Andromeda – ft. D.R.A.M.

Julia Michaels

I love this song, and I love that music like this is currently on the radio. It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to hear more from this artist.

Song Included –

  • Issues

Iggy Azalea

OK….so….this is kind of embarassing. Iggy is a HUGE guilty pleasure of mine, like so much of a guilty pleasure that I almost left it off the list. But whatever…I love this and have been dancing to it like crazy.

Song Included –

  • Mo Bounce (EXPLICIT)

Marian Hill

This song is so calming to me. I listen to it over and over when doing homework, or literally anything. Seriously, if you need to chill out, just turn this on.

Song Included –

  • Down

Smash Mouth

I know what you’re thinking…after all these new releases, this is the grand finale? Well I heard it this month and haven’t stopped listening since. What’s wrong with a little throwback, am I right?

Song Included –

  • All Star

And that’s all for this month! I had a GREAT music month and can’t wait to see what I love next month.

What did you listen to? I’d love to know! Thanks for reading!

My Music This Month || FEBRUARY

Oh boy I’m doing this again! I wrote a post like this almost half a year ago, and had a really good time with it, but then I took a hiatus from the blog and forgot all about it.

I was reminded of it because I listened to A LOT music this month and thought, lets revive it, shall we?

21 Pilots

Ok so I went through a HUGE 21 Pilots phase this month, and had to actually cut out a lot of the songs I listened to on repeat, so that it wasn’t all about them this month.

Song(s) included –

  • Migraine
  • House of Gold
  • Heavydirtysoul
  • We Don’t Believe What’s On TV

Melanie Martinez

I LOVE Melanie Martinez, but only one of her songs is included this month. It is an AWESOME remix of Carousel.

Song included –

  • Carousel – Bleep Bloop Remix

Kanye West

So Kanye doesn’t make music in the genre I like, but the song I chose of his is GREAT for when I’m running. It’s got a heavy base line and keep me going.

Song included –

  • Fade

The Chainsmokers

I haven’t always been the hugest fan of The Chainsmokers, but recently their music has really been appealing to me.

Song(s) included –

  • Something Just Like Us ft. Coldplay
  • Paris

Ed Sheeran

Ed is my jam and I love him, that’s all.

Song included –

  • Shape of You

Cast of La La Land

I saw this movie and actually wanted to make a video about how much I loved it, but never got around to it. But since I found the soundtrack on Spotify, you better believe it’s been on repeat.

Song(s) included –

  • Someone In The Crowd
  • City Of Stars

Imagine Dragons

IMAGINE DRAGONS YAAS!

Song include –

  • Believer

Jon Bellion

I’ve actually never heard of this guy before, but when I heard this song, I thought it was 21 Pilots. It’s SO up my alley and I’m excited to hear more from him!

Song included –

  • All Time Low

Dr. Dog

When I saw Dr. Dog had out a new album, I literally screamed. So I included the new song (which I LOVE) and my favorite song of theirs.

Song(s) included –

  • Ladada
  • Heart It Races

Panic! At The Disco

What is a list of music, without my babe Brendon Urie? Seriously, if Panic isn’t included…PANIC! (hahah) Anyway, I love Death Of A Bachelor because it feels almost theatrical and its just something a little different than what I’ve been listening to (except the actual theatrical stuff fro La La Land).

Song included –

  • Death Of A Bachelor

And that’s all my favorite music from this month!

Tell me what your current favorite song(s) is! I really want to know.

Music This Month : MAY

I’m going to try out something new, so tell me if you enjoy it or not. So far on this blog I talk about two things I feel very passionate about, books and movies, but I have been leaving out one of the most important parts of my life, music.

For this segment I would like to just highlight some music that I really loved this month. It doesn’t necessarily mean it is a new release, it just had to appeal to my mood in the month of May.

Here is my May playlist on Spotify:

Pity Party – Melanie Martinez

I love Melanie Martinez, I first heard her on the American Horror Story – Freakshow teaser trailer, and have been a fan ever since. This song samples the chorus from It’s My Party – Leslie Gore.

True Colors – Zedd, Kesha

This is Kesha’s first song since being separated from her agent who we all know was not a good man. You can really tell Kesha but her heart and soul into this song and the pairing of Zedd and Kesha is genius.

Sax – Fleur East

As far as I can tell, this is Fleur East’s  first single and it is SO fun! This kind of reminds me of Uptown Funk – Bruno Mars, because it is so funky. It’s even got some disco elements in there!

Ride – Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots have quickly become one of my favorite bands. I have loved every song of theirs, and this is no exception. My favorite thing about them is that they’e got some really serious themes in their songs, but it sounds so upbeat.

Bored To Death – blink-182

blink-182 is another of my favorite bands of all time (you’ll see a trend of that in this post), so you can only imagine my excitement when I saw they put out a new single in late April. It is everything I could have hoped for!

Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time – Panic! At The Disco

Guess what Panic! At The Disco is, one of my favorite bands. If this song hadn’t come out, they would have still been present here I’m sure. Panic! At The Disco always has such cool and catchy hooks. Also I find Brendon Urie’s voice so attractive.

King Of The World – Weezer

Weezer is one of my favorite bands. Now that we have that out of the way, when I saw they had a new album out, I got really excited (much like blink-182). This is classic Weezer (also they are touring WITH PANIC! AT THE DISCO now so I might kill someone for tickets).

Ophelia – The Lumineers

Ok so I’m not the hugest Lumineers fan, but I have been wearing out Ophelia. It is so catchy and fun.

Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande

I’m changing up the genre a little bit, but this song makes ME feel like a dangerous woman. This song is so sassy, I get really into this in the shower.

Lost Boy – Ruth B

I have been so into this song for awhile actually. I think it is gorgeous and I when I’m in the mood for something soft and slow, this is my go to.

Spirits – The Strumbellas

This is another song that has some darker themes, but a lighter sound. I love songs like this because they don’t really bring you down, but still make you think.

The Sound Of Silence – Disturbed

This a gorgeous and haunting cover of the classic Simon and Garfunkel sound. The first time I heard this, it actually sent a tear to my eye, and gives me chills every time. I would venture to say this is my actual favorite song I have heard this month and if you don’t listen to any other but this, I wouldn’t even be mad.

The Boxer – Jerry Douglas, Mumford and Sons

Another Simon and Garfunkel cover? Coincidence? Not really, I went through a huge Simon and Garfunkel kick this month and came across both songs in the midst of that. Jerry Douglas and Mumford and Sons are perfect to cover Simon and Garfunkel, because they are really able to maintain the same sound and feel that the original version had.

I hope you enjoyed this, because I sure did! If you have listened to these song, or listen to them after reading this post, tell me what you think, I would love to know!
